With the onset of 2020, a Virus made the world come to a standstill. Millions of people lost their jobs & we witnessed an extreme dip in the world economy. We saw people around us sufferring - Mentally, Physically & Economically.
One of the most affected community was that of the artisans, weavers and craftsmen of India. Around 4.33 million weavers were fighting to survive, if not more! It was a wake up call for us. A call which made us realize we aren’t doing enough for the world we live in. We are reading articles /news on social media about sustainability, generating employment, the rapid escalation of pollution & global warming but that’s exactly where we are limiting ourselves. We’ve heard from time immemorial that it takes just one sudden realization /act for any kind of change to take place. When the world was living on a string of hope we realized we must dare to take that extra leap, walk that extra mile to do something for the world we inhabit. That's when we decided to do Something Mindful , to give back to the world & to Mother Gaia, who we are always taking from. We realized that even if we make a difference to one Life, there in itself lies our victory.
With no experience or degree in fashion we pulled up our socks and started a journey called Dorii – With the dream of making sustainable fashion affordable and to weave a fashion story between Ethical Fashion & You.
We live by the motto - There are actual people behind the clothes you wear and through Dorii we are merely just providing a platform for them to showcase their Art to the rest of the world & hopefully making their lives a little better.
